We’ve had people joining on their other faction characters all day in our guild.
so… something which has worked perfectly fine for almost the entire time it’s existed has a glitch on patch day, and you want to pretend it’s the norm?

you should totes ask to speak to the manager.
I don’t doubt there’s a bug. It’s a good idea to let people know. I would never spend money on that though but thank you for the heads up.
